Bluebird American Express Prepaid Debit Accounts were discontinued on June 2, 2026 and Accounts were officially closed on June 3, 2026.
To help you prepare, here are some key dates to keep in mind:
February 24, 2026: This was the last day you could utilize bill pay functionality.
May 5, 2026: This was the last day you could add funds to your Account.
June 2, 2026: This was the last day you could spend funds on your Account.
September 8, 2026: This will be the last day you can log in and view prior transactions and statements.

If you had any remaining funds on your closed Account after June 3, 2026, a refund check will be sent to you in the mail. Please ensure your physical mailing address and email address are updated in your Account. Please allow 5 weeks to receive your refund check. It should arrive by the second week of July.

Any direct deposits sent to your Account after May 5, 2026 will be declined, and the funds returned to the sender, which will cause a delay in receiving your funds.
